From Pickering
Follow the A170 towards Thirsk for about 2 miles before turning right towards Cropton/Rosedale. Follow the road northwards through Cropton to Rosedale (approximately 10 miles). On entering the village (the Coach & Horses Inn is on the right) take the first left up Rosedale 'Chimney Bank' and after 300 yards turn right to Thorgill. Follow this road for 1.3 miles until it becomes unmetalled and continue ahead for a further 400 yards along a farm track. At the end of the stone wall (on the left) go through the gate and bear left onto the track that leads to Medds Farmhouse. Parking is on the left hand side of the track, which should be kept clear at all times.

From Thirsk
Follow the A170 through Helmsley and Kirbymoorside before turning left at the Cropton/Rosedale sign as above.

NB: Please note that there is no public transport into Rosedale and therefore Stable Cottage the nearest railway station is Malton and the nearest bus is from Pickering. A car is essential.
